Evaluation: Assessment of Learners
Beginning in the fall of 2015, learners are given a post-curriculum attitudinal survey regarding their comfort with covered topics, their thoughts on curriculum design, and their use of the online asynchronous resources. Starting in 2017, this survey will be conducted in tandem with the medical knowledge quiz at the beginning and end of each academic year. Results will be compiled and used to guide curriculum revision.
Beginning in July of 2015, a knowledge assessment quiz has been given at the beginning of the year. Quiz questions were drafted directly off of the goals and objectives from content pages. This quiz is repeated at the end of the year to assess for both areas of strength and areas for improvement.
Learners complete one-page, session-specific feedback forms after each small group session. This evaluation addresses the appropriateness of the topic, the quality of the facilitator, the efficacy of the activities, and an open-ended question regarding areas for improvement. In addition, a year-end evaluation is used to assess resident impressions of the curriculum as a whole. The results of each of these evaluations are compiled centrally and used to guide curriculum revision.
Links for participants to send feedback via email were added to all content pages in the spring of 2015. This feedback is compiled centrally and will be used to improve the curriculum in real time.
